The name St. Mark's Lone Peak was selected to reflect both the 130-year caring tradition of St. Mark's Hospital and the primary landmark (Lone Peak) of one of the fastest growing areas along the Wasatch Front - southern Salt Lake County and northern Utah County.

Appropriately, St. Mark's Hospital was the first hospital in the state and Lone Peak Wilderness area was the first congressionally designated wilderness area in Utah. In recognition of these two Utah pioneers we have created the name: St. Mark's Lone Peak Hospital.
